Link, tag, And press to play music

I worked with a passionate team of designers, developers, data scientists, and hardware engineers in designing interactions for Misfit's Shine and Flash trackers. I focused on reimagining easy and intuitive ways for users to link their devices or add integrations using APIs from popular services.

Link, Switch, Sync, & Error States

Fitness devices were gaining speed in the smart wearables market in 2014. Buying and owning multiple devices was fairly common enough for us to consider making the linking and syncing experience on the app an easier process. I spent the bulk of my time designing the settings page, imagining edge cases, and testing the prototypes to ensure that I designed a seamless experience.

Misfit Flash Commands

App Integrated Button Commands

Misfit was interested in exploring different ways a user can use their Flash device, characterized by it's button press functionality. I crafted experiences that would allow users to press a command to turn on music from their smartphone or even requesting an uber ride. I worked closely with the development & hardware team to produce flow maps, UI screens, and QA-ing the prototypes.
