Tigerspike

Manhattan, New York

Tigerspike is a global digital products company who crafts human focus solutions using technology. Working in the New York office with a multidisciplinary team for over 2 years, I spent my time crafting 3 web responsive projects from start to finish for a financial services bank and an insurance client. Throughout my time there, I learned to balance scopes of work with my time and effort, gathering requirements and transforming them into clear and actionable design tasks. I also got a chance to expand my thinking and storytelling into more UX focus tasks while working for Tigerspike’s Tokyo office in Japan. I was a recipient of a quarterly Tigerspike award in early 2017 for my design contributions towards a construction management dashboard.

Misfit

San Francisco, California

Misfit is a tech startup that I joined in 2015. They make elegant activity trackers that track your steps, sleep, and weight, providing fitness and health insights for their app users. During my 4 months stunt in California, I created wireframes, user flows, and visual designs for their app update for their Shine and Flash devices. I worked closely with 2 other smart designers in the San Francisco office and the overseas development team based in China to successfully launch the Misfit 2.0 app.

Huge

Brooklyn, New York

I was accepted into Huge's UX bootcamp program in the summer of 2014. Teaming up with 3 other talented designers from dynamic backgrounds, we came together to conceptualize an employee intranet we named Huge Library, a visual feed concept that allows employees to connect and share their works. I dove right into conducting user interviews, assessing competitors, and scheduled follow up usability tests with our clickable prototypes. Using the insights gathered, I built sitemaps and wireframes based off our core product decisions, creating and leading presentations to Huge’s design executives.

Bower Studios

Brooklyn, New York

Bower is a contemporary furniture and product design studio with an experimental approach to creating form + function. I was involved with their product development by creating CAD models and prototypes to sketch and solve for elegant manufacturing solutions. Applying my wood shop skills, I also helped speed up the production delivery. Alongside this, I assisted with exhibitions and communicating with clients such as MoMa and Kinfolk.

RISD

Rhode Island School Of Design | Providence, RI
Industrial Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2013, Architecture 2009-2010

Originally applying as an illustration major, I explored a year in architecture before switching over to the Industrial Design program and falling in love with material experimentation. Proficient in woodworking, metal tooling, and mold-making, I spent the crux of my time in understanding and combining materials or finding innovative & sustainable design solutions. As a model shop monitor and technician assistant, I guided students on proper workshop safety and machine usage, while provided casting solutions for complex mold making projects.
